The Vows
Michael and Kim, you
present yourself before me to become husband and
wife. May the universe above us, the world around us
and the friends gathered here today witness the
beginning of the rest of your lives together.
Michael, do you take Kim to be your lawful wedded
wife? [I do]
If you will please repeat your vows after me:
Kim, you are my lover, best friend, my life.
I promise you.
I promise to be with you in good times, when life is
easy, when our love is simple. I promise to comfort
you in bad times, When life is hard, when our love
is challenged.
I cherish you.
Your generous heart, your unyielding love for all
around you, makes me love you more everyday.
You are and will be my
every beautiful moment.
I get you.
I will always understand, accept and love you. I
will never try nor want to change you.
I am certain.
With you, my days will be filled with laughter. I
will always want you, and then want you more still.
By your side, I will be forever. I will always be
the reflection in your eyes.
Michael, please place the ring on Kim’s finger and
repeat after me, “With this ring I thee wed,
pledging to you all my love and faithfulness
forevermore.”
Kim, do you take Michael to be your lawful wedded
husband? [I Do]
If you will please repeat your vows after me:
Michael, you are my lover, my best friend, my life.
I promise you.
I promise to be with you in good times, when life is
easy, when our love is simple. I promise to comfort
you in bad times, when life is hard, when our love
is challenged.
I cherish you.
You are the greatest thing on this earth. With you I
am content, comfortable and complete. I have come to
love you more everyday.
You are and will be my
every beautiful moment.
I get you.
I will always understand, accept and love you. I
will never try nor want to change you.
I am certain.
With you, my days will be filled with laughter. You
are everything I have ever wanted and more. My life
is forever yours. I will always be the reflection in
your eyes.
Kim, please place the ring on Michael’s finger and
repeat after me, “With this ring I thee wed,
pledging to you all my love and faithfulness
forevermore.”
From this moment forth I ask you both to remember
this commitment, the meaning of the rings you now
wear, for just as a handful of sand dropped into the
ocean, these vows can never be taken back.
Sand Ceremony
The sand in each individual container represents all
that you were, all that you are, and all that you
ever will be. To symbolize your joining, I would
like you each to pour your sand into the third
container, representing the ocean.
The sand is now forever inseparable, just as the
union of your hearts, your souls, your lives.
Michael, Kim, I ask that you remember to always need
one another, not so much to fill the emptiness as to
help each other know your fullness. Want one
another, but not out of lack. Love and be loved.
Michael, Kim, by the power vested in me, I pronounce
you husband and wife.
Michael, you may kiss your bride!
Friends and family, may I present to you, Mr. & Mrs.
Green!
